Batten Down the Hatches

So we were supposed to go to the lake Friday afternoon, but somebody decided he was going to get all kinds of messy sick that day.  This was also the day when the tilers were tiling our shower (incorrectly), so things got a bit chaotic.  I came home to access the situation and found Dalton watching golf with Pa - and VERY into it.  He kept telling me "Watch Mommy, Watch!" about every 30 seconds.  And God forbid I try to talk to someone.

When I was packing for the trip, D&D were oh so helpful packing up some toys to take.  At one point I asked her to do something and she told me, "I can't, I've got 3 bags working".

When we got to Shel's Lake House Saturday around noon, we had to check out the sandbox of course.  And soon we headed out on the lake. I think it's a good look for them.

Darby loved it.  She seemed a bit disappointed that we weren't "going" anywhere, but she got over it.  Dalton did fine, but he just sat very quiet and still.  We figured the noise and motion would put him to sleep, but he stayed awake.  He just looked very sleepy the whole time.

After the kids went to bed, we had the inaugural dinner out on the new screened in porch.  It was great times until Dalton started screaming his fool head off.  He pretty much had been awake the whole time we ate. Then we commenced with the rocking, patting, squawking (him, not me) tossing & turning, very little sleep getting (both of us) portion of the evening.  Little man is just NOT a good traveller yet.  Really hoping he snaps out of it soon.
