- Darby got frustrated when she was pretending to sleep in the car while Tim and I were talking - "If I have to snore over you while you are talking I'm going to have to snore really loud!"
- "When I'm 4 I can talk to ladies in the store and I can drive"
- "This castle is for girls. That castle is for boys. That castle only has 2 balls"
- "There's no galloping in ballet"
Saturday morning we went to Veronica's 4th birthday party at Storybrooke Ranch. It was a very fun venue with a bounce house, playgrounds, a petting zoo and pony rides. Darby loved everything but the pony rides. I tried talking her into taking one, but not surprisingly, she wasn't having it. I considered it a coup when I got her to pet him. As soon as the party was winding down and we were getting ready to leave she decides she wants to "ride something". And what would she like to ride? A pony. Of course. She got a big "Too bad, so sad" response to that. We rode the pretend horse instead.
It was funny too - they served pizza , which of course she can't eat the cheese on, so I had some other snacks for her, and I also pulled off a couple of crusts for her. She loved it - went on and on about how good the pizza was, but she wouldn't eat the actual crust. She ate the part that had remanants of pizza sauce on it, but not the actual edge. Kind of defeated the purpose, but she was happy.
That afternoon we went in the pool. She is doing soo well with her floaty suit. She chased me or had me chase her around the pool the entire time. She was full on doggie paddling and going pretty fast. I don't think she's ready to try it without the suit, but it's so heartening to see her so into it. Especially with where she was with her lessons at the beginning of the summer.
As for Dalton, he was in a continual loop. Leap in, swim to Daddy underwater, Daddy puts him on the step, he runs over to the edge, repeat.
